Who I am…

My name is Lucy and I work in the field of public health in NYC. I have loved to travel since I took my first big trip at age 12 to visit my grandfather in Costa Rica. That trip planted a seed in me and it created a thirst for travel. After college I was inspired to learn more about my Latina roots, so I served in the Peace Corps in El Salvador. As a health volunteer serving in a rural village in northeastern El Salvador, I met some amazing people and I learned a whole lot about myself. And I got to travel extensively throughout Central America, both during and after my service, which was eye opening in so many ways.

Since then I continue to love to travel any chance I get. I take lots of short weekend trips and also longer trips exploring new places. I still work a full time job, so traveling is my passionate side project. I’m always looking for more travel ideas and inspiration through various sources. I hope you enjoy reading about it!

About Guadeloupe Travel
Miguel in Guadeloupe.

I take most of my trips nowadays with my boyfriend Miguel. Miguel has been a great travel partner since he is always game for anything I cook up. While Miguel didn’t have a passport prior to us meeting, he quickly got one and is eager to explore the world like me. Since we both love to be active, one of the ways we explore new places is by taking a local run. There is so much you can see by running through a city, along a port, or into the rural countryside. And running allows you to see things that you might not get to see otherwise. I hope to share with you some of the great runs and hikes that we do.
